[If they know about their abilities and enough details about their life, getting hold of their personal objects or making replicas would be easy enough, but that their motives are starting to get more personal is definitely concerning to Marinette as well.]

[She's not going to say as much because he already seems agitated (evidently this is a touchy subject), so she focuses on the little girl instead]

She's really cute! I, um, babysit a little angel ["angel"] back home, she's really full of energy, eheh. I'm a little surprised that you're a father, er....

[Because he hangs out with Rhys and acts like a thirteen year old..... But this is going terribly, quick, Marinette, say something to save yourself]

You seem... young to be a father?

[nailed it]
monsieurchatastrophe: (just feel that summer breeze)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
I'm familiar with the concept. [...intimately] It's just... I don't know. I hope it won't come to that. There's enough people involved right now without adding hostages.
chiseler: (man he never had a chance)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
You're not wrong. [And she's really not. He likes to know what happened in the past and he nods slowly to himself.] Ever heard the phrase "history repeats itself?" That's what I'm studying up on this time.
missmaladroite: (Now you're lying next to meee)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-06 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
[In the conference room:]

....When did you get these items?

[she doesn't really think she'll get a straight answer, but she wants to ask anyway]
bloodbiter: (you do not fuck with a man that knows)

[personal profile] bloodbiter 2016-07-06 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
She did say she was going to give us nightmares before she changed her mind. I wouldn't be surprised if she did something to alter our state of mind once more.

[begins wringing out her dress as she talks]

It is more personal, but... The fact that it's more personal doesn't necessarily mean it would make people desperate. Showing us the depth of her knowledge of our lives would make more sense to me if she was leading up to something, but on it's own, it seems overall less tempting than the last motive.
missmaladroite: (where did you come from)

gardens

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-06 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
[honestly, Yuno kind of unnerves Marinette, but she is interested in what she's doing, and even fantasizes over Adrien giving her flowers....]

[but when Yuno spots her staring, she gives an awkward wave]

Er, sure...?
missmaladroite: (I needed you so badly?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-06 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yes, of course.... but why would Greek history repeat itself in this situation...?

[she's still stuck in that awkward frozen pose.... how long is she going to keep this up?]
chiseler: (nothing more to say)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. There's a reason it's called Camp Half-Blood. [And even though things were really messed up in the end, he did spend a good chunk of his life there.] Hidden behind the mist and up at the top of a hill, guarded and protected by a magical barrier infused in a pine tree. Monsters can't come in unless somebody summons them inside the camp. Demigods can come stay for summer sessions or live there year-round. Annabeth and I were year-rounders.

[There's no mention of the third person in their party. Thalia's a whole other story. He nods to confirm then.] If I could figure out how to get the dagger back to her? Yeah, absolutely. I'm the one who gave it to her in the first place after it was given to me. It's hers. She needs to keep it. ["She needs to stay safe."]
missmaladroite: (Angel?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-06 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
[maybe YOU should stop swooning over her]

Well, you did catch me....

[straightens up and dusts herself off, assuming Addie's not still holding her tenderly in her arms]

I just slipped! I'm fine.
chiseler: (are we all too young to die?)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not saying I want it to come to that either. [This...time...] But if our numbers dwindle down far enough...
bloodbiter: (and if you look to your left you will se)

[personal profile] bloodbiter 2016-07-06 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
[don't tell me how to live]

I'm glad. I hope they haven't taken anything too valuable from you.
missmaladroite: (I BELIEVE IN MIRACLESSSSS)

Wednesday, both

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-06 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
[....Are they trying to cook? Marinette watches with a mixture of secondhand embarrassment and interest, side-eyeing the boiling put in particular.]

--Er... You may want to take it off the stove, now that it's off.
bloodbiter: (you do not fuck with a man that knows)

tuesday

[personal profile] bloodbiter 2016-07-06 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
[she's been pacing around the ship listlessly every so often once she discovered what item they've taken from her, and once she finds herself at the viewport, she's sorely in need of conversation. as such, she gives him a small nod as he speaks up.]

I won't say that I will miss being handcuffed, but... It is a shame things have returned to this all the same.
monsieurchatastrophe: (and so I'll read a book)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's less the items and more the chance of losing what they are, or what they represent, permanently. [he's kicking his feet a bit, staring at the water] From her explanation, it seemed like only whoever murdered would get whatever was in their case. Everyone else would lose it... "forever".

[he shrugs]

I wouldn't have called any of these motives good, but I know there's at least one item that might've made even me hesitate if it was in there. I think it depends on the person and what they value.
missmaladroite: (I'd give my heart gladly?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-06 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Well...

[Her sketchbook is really valuable to her, but it could be worse.]

It's not worth killing over. I really hope no one falls for a motive like this.

[but by now she's a little less optimistic about it]

--What about you? I, um, saw you looking...
Edited 2016-07-06 01:12 (UTC)
bloodbiter: (should have seen it coming fuckboy)

[personal profile] bloodbiter 2016-07-06 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think she would destroy what they represent, honestly. Just the items themselves. But... Yes, I suppose it does depend upon the item.

[taking her attention away from her wet clothes for a moment to look at him]

What is it? The thing that might have made you hesitate, that is, if I may ask.
monsieurchatastrophe: (then I'll stretch maybe sketch)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
...I'm still hoping our numbers are done dwindling. We didn't have a trial last week. There's got to be hope for everyone left.
antietam: (pic#9385157)

[personal profile] antietam 2016-07-06 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, the pine tree. [ He does remember that conversation. ] It sounds like a nice place. To be with similar kids and not live in fear.

[ That makes him smile a little bit because Luke does sound like he wants to protect at least one person. That's a good sign. ] And do you think she'd get hurt if she didn't have it?
bloodbiter: (ah fuck i'm being schnoogered)

conference room, thursday

[personal profile] bloodbiter 2016-07-06 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
[she doesn't want to dwell, but she returns to the conference room regardless - if it's true that it's going to be destroyed, she wants to see it one more time, perhaps.

she pauses for a moment before answering his question, surprised and a bit confused by his expression given the circumstances.]

...A necklace. Why do you ask?
chiseler: (you're getting better all the time)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Know what he's going to do? He's going to reach over...and gently pluck the paper out of her hand just to kind of point out that she sure is frozen and it's funny to him.]

It's not just Greek history, though the Trojan War left enough of an impact on people that it's been a huge mark on history ever since then. It's not a repeat of the exact same actions, but definitely some of the ideas.
bloodbiter: (who needs the human centrifuge)

cafeteria, let's go with tuesday

[personal profile] bloodbiter 2016-07-06 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
[she glances at the sign as he addresses her, and it's enough to bring a smile to her face despite the circumstances.]

It's a very kind offer. May I ask what prompted it?
chiseler: (ask a reason and no reply)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-07-06 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
We were also handcuffed to each other last week. What if something like that is the answer to this?
bloodbiter: (say cheese to my asshole)

[personal profile] bloodbiter 2016-07-06 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
What was it, if I might ask?

[she glances back at her own case with a look of regret, sighing]

...It has a great deal of sentimental value, but it's not something worth taking a life for. If what she says is true and it is to be destroyed, I will simply have to make do.
monsieurchatastrophe: (then after lunch it's puzzles)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
[he's the one not looking at her, staring at his hands and rubbing at the ring on his finger. subtle.]

I say might, I... I know I'd sacrifice it for the life of others. Always. But it'd mean saying goodbye to a friend, and... might be putting a lot of others in danger. I'd definitely be sad about it. What she's got right now... it was important to me at the time, but it's replaceable, and it's definitely not worth a life.

[what a non-answer]
monsieurchatastrophe: (start on the chores and sweep)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-07-06 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
...You think we should handcuff ourselves to one another all the time?

[what]
