WEEK FOUR

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (4)

monday - thursday

(33) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. Along with this, it appears there are new areas opened on the ship. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

Pelagic. Like the sea's pelagic zone?

[No. He doesn't know what the Pelagic Genesis would entail without additional context, either. Relating it to water alone could mean a multitude of things, which isn't... very helpful.

But then they get to the second point, and he's snorting derisively.]

"Savior of humanity as we know it". Because having us kill ourselves off isn't counterproductive at all.
missmaladroite: (Now you're lying next to meee)

Is there more?

[Marinette's just reading all of this intensely, frowning in thought.]

Maybe the original Cradle Project wasn't like this, but the AI was reprogrammed by someone else.

Or went rogue.

[ she'll try to scroll through more when she reaches the end of the document, but no dice. ]

Nope... looks like that's it.

[ she pauses, reading over the text again. to jason: ]

Right? It doesn't make sense. [ and to marinette: ] You might be onto something - if this document is real, anyway. Do you think we can trust it?

[Of course all they get is a hint of whatever the heck this all means. Well, if the document is real. Minako has a point, there.]

AIs don't just go rogue all willy nilly. Reprogramming's more likely — if a kill 'em all type of shindig wasn't the original idea.

[People are fucked up, so. He wouldn't be surprised if this was the original idea after all. But...]

Regardless of if we can trust it or not... someone planted this here. You usually don't leave important information laying around in a location like this by accident. [Well.] Unless you're a complete brain donor, that is.
missmaladroite: (The lonely people)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-03 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
We need to find out who this belongs to and how it got here before we can know for sure whether the information is reliable. [Marinette tries to take a better look at the make of a datapad - if that gives any clues.]

Either someone is trying to help us or throw us off. Or it could be a game Alice is playing.

[....]

The original plan being kill everyone-- that sounds like something out of a bad science fiction movie.

[personal profile] allout 2016-07-03 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
That might be a little tough to find out... check it out. This datapad doesn't look like the ones that we have - it could belong to anyone.

[ she examines it along with her, and it's clear that there are differences from the ones that were in their rooms when they arrived on the ship.

her voice lowers, so that only the two of them can (hopefully) hear. ]

I think we should tell the others about this, but try to keep it from Alice if we can. What do you guys think?
antagonize: (019)

[personal profile] antagonize 2016-07-03 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Assuming we can get as "lucky" as whoever killed Maria Hill, Niles and Todd Smith? Yes. We should try to keep it from Alice if we can.

[That said, glancing at the datapad again...]

... It could also belong to no one at all. There are datapads filled with information in the archives.

[But he's been in the archives practically all week, and never encountered this particular one... So either he missed it, or it wasn't there when the room was unlocked. Maybe it was never there at all.]
missmaladroite: (I'd give my heart gladly?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-03 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Well, someone had to have put it there. And I didn't see it when I checked.....

[she's going to take out her notebook and start copying down the message, and then sketching out any marks, oddities, or differences to the datapad]

[She shudders at the thought of Todd Soup and co, but]

...We can try, but.... Alice can appear in so many rooms. We may be monitored even now.

Maybe we're not... [ "the only ones here". it's an idea that she entertains for a moment, but quickly shakes it away in mid-sentence. ] Never mind.

[ ugh. she finds herself gulping at that memory as well - even as someone who isn't afraid of death, she doesn't want her last moments to be used as paint for the ship's walls. ]

I guess we can spread the word, but try not to be obvious about it. We'll be able to think better as a group, I think.

[personal profile] antagonize 2016-07-03 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe we're not what? [He... can guess what she wanted to say, considering he's been entertaining the same idea, but.] Don't start a sentence and then leave us hanging. It could be important, right?

[Ladies, you both need to get stronger stomachs!! Never mind that even Todd a la Carte is too much for Jason, but. You know. Worse things can happen than being served as breakfast.]

They do say there's strength in numbers... [Though, uh.] Even if we're standing in one of the rooms the AI can appear in.

[There's kind of a statue here, guys.]
missmaladroite: (Angel?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-03 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Jason asked before Marinette could, but she's still listening.]

[Look....... stop being an internet tough guy, Jason, people soup and splattters are gross]

We can try anyway. Even if it was Alice who left this out for us..... If we find a room without a statue, then maybe...

[personal profile] allout 2016-07-03 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
I just... I mean, there are new areas that are opening up every week, right? It just made me wonder... maybe we're not the only living things on this ship.

[ it's a silly theory, but also one that she doesn't want to think about. it couldn't be true anyway. right?

she glances over to the statue. ]

Let's get out of this room.
antagonize: (017)

[personal profile] antagonize 2016-07-03 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
[He'll never stop being the internet tough guy. Let him keep his internet cred.]

... It's not impossible. We don't have any irrefutable proof that we are the only living things on this ship, nor any proof that we aren't. It's best to keep that in mind.

[This is probably not a nice thing to say in front of two teenagers. He also doesn't care??? Every possibility needs to be considered, so. Yeah.

He glances at the statue as well, before gesturing towards the door.]

Ladies first, then.
missmaladroite: (I'd be the one?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-07-03 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
["Maybe there was", but Marinette dismisses that morbid thought as soon as it comes]

The rulebook does say there's a third party.. or there could be others not part of the "game".

[Now that Marinette's finished copying down the info, she'll go ahead]
