WEEK FOUR

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (4)

monday - thursday

(33) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. Along with this, it appears there are new areas opened on the ship. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

Got it in one.

[The datapads are nice, but he's missed physical books while stuck in this shitty ship. He's trying to read through most of the physical copies before dedicating himself 100% to the digital collections.]

The AI might be all hush hush about certain information, but in a place this big? There's gotta be something we could use.

[... That, and there's the fact that he'll pretty much read anything as long as it's interesting.]

It'll at least give us an idea of how this came to be. Maybe information on us that they've kept. [ Not that he expects anything too incriminating. It doesn't hurt to have more information.

After a pause, he grabs the Compendium of Memes and holds it up to Arumat. ]
You might like this.

That AI won't be able to hide everything -- and I bet this will remain true if more locations that have information about this spacecraft open up.

{ Arumat takes the thing without a second thought. He flips through the pages, raising a brow. He'll take note of the dates BUT... yep this is Earth stuff alright.

It'll take him a bit, but before he gets to the last page-- }

Most of this is utterly ridiculous. I assume there's something else of note in here too.

If more locations open up. Not sure about you two, but I'd rather have less deaths over new, shiny places to explore.

[Since, uh, it looks like new rooms are unlocked every time someone gets executed. Not very encouraging.]

There's some philosophy near the end. But nothing significant.

[It's the philosophy of memes. Does Arumat dare flip to that page?]

At this point, I'm not sure how likely hoping for less death is. [ It Keeps Happening.

But when Arumat flips through the book, Adam smiles. Memes are putting him in a good mood. ]
Maybe you can help us find a secret message in it.

{ He's sporting a slightly annoyed look now, although whether that's at just Jason's comment or the vapid, useless string of memes painted along the book remains to be seen. }

Hmph. Like you're the only one who feels that way -- it's just a matter of time before some idiot does something to incur another trial.

{ If Arumat was naive enough, he'd have suggested it could be that every week a new place opens up, regardless of murder -- but the pattern of places opening up following an execution seems to suggest otherwise.

He flips to the philosophy of memes. Enthralling. }

A secret message? Amidst nonsense?

{ He'll just turn the book upside down, like he's trying to find a message by reading it that way, with a straight face. He might be humoring Adam a little bit, because honestly even after reading past the memes there doesn't seem to be a hidden message. }

They do say hope springs eternal, y'know. Try being a little optimistic for once. [Though, he can't even bring himself to say that with a straight face.] Not that optimism will do us any good here, anyway.

[Arumat holding the book upside down is way too funny. It's enough that he's just going to—]

Can't find the secret message, either? Guess the memening of this book's beyond our comprehension.

[FLASHBACK TO THE PUNNY DAYS OF GREEN UNDERWEAR. Someone shoot him.]
