When the game has run its course, I imagine. Until we've played long enough and won.

[she exhales slowly, shaking her head.]

Or we've all lost.

That sadly wasn't the answer I want.

[ It's true. They've seen three deaths already - they've witnessed murder and felt the paranoia. This was... ungodly. ]

If friends can kill friends... I guess there isn't much less in finding common associates here.

...I will ask you something. Would you isolate yourself and fall into misery for it to try to prevent the pain of loss? Or would you try still, to know the happiness of companionship and chase that slim possibility that something different might occur if you work with others rather than waiting alone for time to run out?

[when she asks this, she isn't looking at Elizabeth, but at a point somewhere in the distance.]

None can tell you which is the right course, Miss Elizaebth, save yourself. None can decide for you if you will still have hope or not.

[she doesn't say this out of the desire to be good or any shred of optimism - it's simply a human's responsibility, to make those sorts of choices. and Grell has ever been someone to ask questions. whether it leads to a greater tragedy or somehow the story taking a turn she didn't expect, that remains to be seen. it just happens that Elizabeth is the one on stage today.]

[ Can you stop dropping this truth bomb? It hits home, and honestly, makes her cringe a bit. ]

I've been alone my entire life, Miss. This is one of the select times I've ever encountered a variety of people - but of course, fate has the circumstances fall into this line.

[ She sounds bitter. ]

I'm trying not to give up hope and lose how I view people - truly.
