WEEK TWO - Trial
| the pygmalion. . . ONLINE ![]() CAPTAIN'S LOG: WEEK (2) |
saturday TRIAL DAY ONE (38) survivors ![]() At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote. |

Boring.
All that's visible on one of the shelves is a piece of paper with a list of locations on the ship. Most of them have been scratched off, and in the corner there's written a little note of "Nothing to smoke here."
Looks like she's really missing her kiseru.]

[there really doesn't seem to be much of note out in plain sight, that much harold can see right away as she roots around the obvious places. she'll take a look at the note when she spots it and laugh a little to herself, because that sure does sound like tsukuyo to her.
she's not really surprised by the state of the room, either, though she can't deny that the kunai thing was a problem of sorts. she'll let luke prod through desk drawers—but harold is going to go for her wardrobe.]
I'll check her clothes and other garments. It just doesn't seem like it would be right to let a boy go through a lady's things. [boy, man. whatever.
she's still going to check all of that thoroughly, humming to herself at anything she deems cute in the meanwhile.]

Any objections if I check the beds and her bathroom? Seems like the only other places to check. [He's already crossing the room to the beds first, even checking under the beds, feeling around for anything that might be tucked away in corners before also checking under and in pillow cases. He'll get to the bathroom in a sec.]

The arrival outfit is there too, tucked into the back of the closet because she just couldn't be assed to get rid of it.
There isn't anything in or under the beds or anything; they're made but not super tidily. She's got her one possession on her already, so her room is pretty empty.]

I guess that leaves the bathroom and whatever's left. A last look around? Even the doorways are clues around here, so we can't leave anything out. E-ve-ry nook! E-ve-ry cranny!
[yeah, she's enunciating that part as if that'll change anything. harold's pretty sure they're not going to find anything in here since that would be too obvious unless it was accidental—but missing evidence has already happened on her watch, so she'll let luke handle bathroom duties if he wants them while she goes over the room a second time—including where luke has checked (oops)—for any missed potential.]

You've gotta have some suspicions already to who it might be, right? [His head's inside a cabinet at this point just to check for clues, so his voice is probably echoing.] This seems like a pretty weak motive for some of the suspects.

Otherwise it's pretty much how it generically always is.
No weird markings or anything to be found where Harold is poking around, even on the door frames.]
no subject
[she'll ask that part before addressing the rest of what luke's saying.]
Suspicions don't really mean much at all right now, don't you think? There's still too much we don't know before we can go pointing fingers. I mean, you can if you want to, but the motive is weak and we still haven't found all the evidence yet.
[she sighs, peeking behind the furniture one last time anyway as she stretches her arms out over her head.] It looks like she doesn't spend much time in here aside from sleeping.

Think about what we do know. Her hair thing was found as a piece of evidence and it's likely that somebody's got the universal card. Maybe our next question should be how often she's spoken to the other suspects and see if maybe somebody would have an interest in framing her. [A hand's running over the doorframe anyway just in case.]
Nothing. Let's head back and see if anybody else found something better in the other rooms.

Either way, if someone's got the universal card, her hairpiece might not count for much unless she did it and was banking on us suspecting that. [it's a possibility she's not ruling out, because anything is possible.
but tsukuyo doesn't strike her as the type to be so roundabout with things either, so she shrugs.]
We can do more speculating once we've got a better idea of what's been recovered and from where. [so she'll point to the door and flash him a grin.] Vamoose!
