[That's appreciated, thank you Annabeth. Look it's healing and sutured properly but he still probably shouldn't be doing a whole lot to it just yet.]

Not as bad as it was when I first got it? You'd think years of fighting monsters would prepare us better for aliens. [Once she's up he's also up and facing her for a moment, mostly taking in what he's seeing. Most people wouldn't notice but she's definitely grown up a little since he last saw her. His eyes recount the beads on her necklace and he frowns in thought.] Has it really been a year? [He's not finishing the sentence with "since I died" because they both know, but...what the hell.]

[ her hand goes up to the newest bead. the empire state building, with all the names carved around it in tiny ancient greek letters. she'd made damn well certain luke's name was on there. ]

Yeah. A little longer than that, now.

[ her fingertips find his name. it's right after one of her own half-siblings. ]

This year's bead should be...interesting. Hopefully they pick the Parthenos.

[He's not at all surprised by the design of the bead. A year doesn't seem like it would be that long to most people, but for a demigod it could be the difference between life and death. He's watching her closely, though the confusion on his face is clear.]

The Parthenos as in...your mom's. [He shakes his head suddenly, more serious than usual.] Annabeth, what happened? What does the Parthenos have to do with anything?

[wises]

It's...hard to know where to start. [ Because there's so much of it. ] So, there was a new great prophecy. That's probably as good a place as any. "Seven half-bloods shall answer the call, to storm or fire the world must fall. An oath to keep with a final breath, and foes bear arms to the Doors of Death."

[ it's easy to rattle it off. she's lived the damn thing. ]

Also, Romans? A thing. They have a camp in California, in the Berkeley Hills.

[chiseler]

[Ah okay now it all makes sense! Except for the part where it doesn't and Luke's left staring at her blankly.]

...what. [What?] You've gotta be kidding, we just finished a great prophecy! [He's more annoyed that Annabeth got dragged into something so shortly after the last prophecy wrapped up.] How'd you find out about the Roman camp?

[wises]

Hera [ said like she's cursing, because she...basically is... ] decided the only way we'd defeat the giants and Gaea - spoiler alert, those were a thing - was if the camps combined forces and decided the best way to do that would be to kidnap and mindwipe someone from our camp and switch them out with a kidnapped mindwiped member of their camp.

[ she's still salty. ]

She took Percy. We got Jason Grace.

[ ...and she'd taken ages to warm up to the guy. but jason had started off on the wrong foot by not being percy jackson. ]

Eventually we tracked Percy down at New Rome - their camp - and then a bunch of stuff happened and we had to quest to actual legitimate Greece. And I had to find the Parthenos on the way. Again: a lot happened.

[The fact that his expression is an actual, legitimate lineface should say enough of what he thinks about Hera pulling shit like this and can't they just let everybody rest? There's a weird expression following when Annabeth mentions Gaea because that sure is ironic, considering what was on the Pygmalion, but there's a lot to tackle here and while he's sure there are a lot more important questions here he can't help but focus on one.]

Jason Grace. [...that...is absolutely a coincidence. Yeah. Okay.] So on top of all of that, then you woke up in a pod on the Nuwa and had to survive for a few weeks and here we are. [A hand comes up to rub at his eyes.] ...then again if anybody was going to find the Parthenos it'd be you anyway.
