How long is he going to be driving? You can't let him drive the whole way, he's injured.

Pretty sure we've got a long way to go, and I don't know if anybody's told you this, Bruce, but your son's a pretty tough son of a bitch. I don't think being injured would actually stop him from driving a spaceship. [Do we bring up Jason's lack of an eyeball? Do we talk about that? How do you talk to dads????]

Anyway we're trying to get to you so...stopping now kinda seems like a bad idea?

[ there's definitely a tone of frustration here. OKAY, HE GETS IT TEENS. ]

I know but there's a point where being tough isn't enough and I'm trying to understand how close he is to that point.

[ please don't die again, jason. it would be awkward for everyone and he's already broken the universe a few times to save his sons, let him rest. also, talia would probably be like, really mad. ]

You also have to understand, we haven't had much information about what's going on on your end since being told about the Pygmalion's existence. The last time I saw Jason, there was an eye gouged out of his face and I haven't been able to talk to him until now. A little update wouldn't go amiss.

So you're being an overprotective parent. That's something. [He pauses again.] Maybe I can help you out until you can talk to Jason. What's the last thing you actually heard about us? Sunny said you've been watching for a little while.

[ TECHNICALLY. everyone is children to bruce, okay. have a very petulant reply, luke. ]

[ bruce, you are totally being overprotective of your dumb son. you let damian carry around a sword and adopt cows but jason gets mother henned as the disappointment child. get it together, wayne. ]

Not as often as I'd like, as voyeuristic as it sounds. The motive given, sharing the existence of each other was the first time I saw Jason but otherwise Dr. Lin has been giving sporadic updates in that... personable tone of hers. They were. Helpful.

[ they were not helpful and she probably just laughed at him for being a worrywart over jason. ]

Uh huh. Okay. [It's funny? And also a little weird because his own dad wouldn't be doing this he's pretty sure. Goddamnit Jason maybe you should talk to your dad after all.]

Sunny's not entirely sold on being helpful, I've come to find. [Neither is Luke but whatever.] What's there really to say? We've been playing this game for longer than you guys have, we had a bunch of aliens on our ship, your son managed to kill one of them and has actually not been useless in trials. He's a smart kid. I mean he's kinda missing an eye but that can probably be fixed at some point? Maybe? And he's been skewered a few times but like I said, he's been doing okay. We've got one final foe to face or whatever and then you can have him back.

[ why is everyone so mean to him. he's not going to address the sarcasm though, instead frown deeply on this end. ]

You say this like it's supposed to make me feel better.

[ he'd go on a rant but he. won't. because bruce is a man of few words but oh boy, he has some choice words for sunny. yay, jason killed an alien except the alien wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the incompetency of those running this game and on top of that, why the hell would you run a game like this in the first place. ohhh, he's so mad. ]

Just tell me none of you are bleeding out right now.

[ you all sound like you can't do anything but get yourself stabbed, what the fuck. ]

We're stabilized and nobody's bleeding out. [There's a short pause, trying to think ofhow to defuse the situation.]

Let's start over. Hello Bruce. My name is Luke. I've obviously been playing this game from the beginning with your...son? [This is still weird.] And I can guarantee you everything's been fine. Would it have been nice if we knew about the aliens sooner? Obviously, yeah, but I'm kinda surprised how adaptable Jason's been. He's helped a lot more than he'll ever own up to. Does that help?
