WEEK 13

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (13)

monday - thursday

(10) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find that the ship is still in disarray; there is no robot prepared breakfast, nor has any of the damage been repaired. The ship bears power in the rooms you have decided should have power, though the lights are dim. Without Alice, you are all on your own. The ominous pressure of the Queen Mother still looms, though you no longer feel Her presence.

[he's about as far away possible physically from anyone besides dave, and he's not looking any of them in the eyes when he speaks up, simply staring at the conference table]

... I know it doesn't matter, but I'm for fighting. [okay. cool. a great start there, small cat.] He. It. Before it died, it gave me its memories. [he nearly stops himself right there, because he knows it sounds crazy, but. he takes a breath and keeps going:] They're vindictive. You guys-- you've seen it, but... I don't think she'd be willing to let us go even if the Nuwa "destroys the hosts". The cradles are breakable.
chiseler: (nothing more to say)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-31 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Small cat...:c Luke's watching carefully, giving him a small smile and mostly patiently waiting for Adrien to finish. If anyone would know...well. Yeah.]

Of course it matters. [First and foremost.] And that doesn't surprise me at all. Sunny suggested we break all of the cradles to give us an extra power boost, too. So how do we do that?
monsieurchatastrophe: (start on the chores and sweep)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-31 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
[if he was feline fine (heyoooo) this would be where he'd make a joke about just taking a bat to them and seeing how that works, but instead he just continues to stare at NO LIVING THING.]

... Maybe... the same way you guys broke the fuel reserve? He wasn't planning on breaking them.
chiseler: (and as you step back into line)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-31 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Well the way we broke the fuel reserve was letting Clover and Jason go to town before Yuno, Adam and I blew it up with fireworks and then you came in. Seems like a little much but there's an idea. [...a pause.] Did he not know about the cradles, or he just didn't care?
monsieurchatastrophe: (should I?)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-31 04:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[shrugs, because breaking is breaking? clearly. he picks at his sleeve as he talks] ...Both. He knew there were bodies in there because people talked about it and I went in, but he didn't care, since those were going to be for the Queen. He didn't know what they actually did, though.

chiseler: (if you just let me make my own mistakes)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-31 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing. But that means he knew what the Queen wanted with the bodies, right? [He doesn't want to entirely ask outright...but he would like to know.]
monsieurchatastrophe: ('til the floor's all clean)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-31 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly what the AI said she wanted. Hosts. Powers, consciousness... all that isn't necessary. All they need is bodies. The reason they don't go for corpses is the rot-- they can't stop the bodies from falling apart. [he takes a moment to continue after that] She... sends her children, gives them host bodies, and they... take and conquer worlds to give her more.
chiseler: (an anxious sort of complicated fear)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-09-01 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[There's a pause.]

Somehow I figured that. That's what she wanted to do with me. [It's what she showed him when they encountered her the first time and though he won't say so now, it bothered him a lot.] But she doesn't have any more children does she? Do we know?
monsieurchatastrophe: (I just have to do it)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-09-01 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[he shakes his head]

I don't know. I mean, she does, she-- over the galaxies-- but I don't know if any of them are with her. It's... They're a collective and they're bound to her? Telepathically. I don't know about physically. [he grimaces a bit] I'm sorry. I know that's not useful.
chiseler: (of this meltin heart of major compromise)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-09-02 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
That's plenty helpful. It's like working with a bunch of bees. They don't always hang around the queen but they're in touch and everything they do is for her to reach one end goal. The most important thing I'm getting here is that we have to be mentally prepared for everything and the physical is secondary. That shouldn't be too complicated...I hope.
monsieurchatastrophe: (and so I'll read a book)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-09-03 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
... Don't underestimate her. She's... She'll be furious, she won't pull any punches.

[that's about all he seems to be willing to add]
breakshot: (surrounded by beer bottles)

[personal profile] breakshot 2016-08-31 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
You'll need to get in contact with Perkins. I don't know how it will work over on your end, but that's pretty much your only shot for now. We wouldn't have found them if not for her.

We're over on Beta, so once again it may not work the same way for you guys. Still, if you have any questions about the cradles themselves, best to ask them now.

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-09-01 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll figure out a way to get in touch then if this is what we're planning...kinda sounds like it is though.

I think my main question is how do you actually break a cradle? What works best to get someone to break out?
tacklefordwhimsy: I think that is no good. (Erin?)

[personal profile] tacklefordwhimsy 2016-09-01 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
We mostly shouted at the owner of the cradle and got them to accept the world was a lie. It's, uh, hard to say how exactly it works, it'd depend on each person.
chiseler: (too heavy to hold my own evaporatin soul)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-09-01 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Guess that makes sense if the cradle's like someone's subconscious. What pulled you out of yours, Shelley? How'd you accept everything was a lie?
tacklefordwhimsy: Where is the giant bee man? (Something is not right here)

[personal profile] tacklefordwhimsy 2016-09-01 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Shelley's avatar frets]

I remember everything was in perfect control and I was in charge of it all, so when things started to go wrong I started to doubt everything.

[If only the way the guys ruined her cradle wasn't through putting everyone in danger via a stupidly large bee...]

chiseler: (ask a reason and no reply)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-09-02 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
So really the key is to force the issue and take over the illusion...that doesn't sound too hard. And that's how you pulled others out, too?
tacklefordwhimsy: I think that is no good. (Are you sure)

[personal profile] tacklefordwhimsy 2016-09-02 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, exactly, although the ones I went into involved shouting stuff like "wake up, we need your help!" and ruining their happiness. It doesn't matter what you do as long as it works.
