saturday TRIAL DAY ONE (13) survivors At 9 AM, a klaxon alarm begins blaring in every area of the ship. The alarm will continue to go off until everyone has gathered in the conference room. Should anyone be running late or avoiding the trial for whatever reason, a robot guide will appear wherever they are and gently but firmly escort them into the room. Once all the living players are present, the conference room doors will lock shut; anyone who wishes to leave for whatever reason will need to ask AL-2955 or one of the robots. Anyone leaving for non-investigative purposes, such as bathroom breaks, will be accompanied by a robot escort. The large round table in the center of the conference room has been set up to help the trial run as smoothly as possible. Three holographic screens hover above the center hollow of the table, visible from every angle. The first screen displays the pictures and profiles of the suspects and victim; the second displays the autopsy report; the third displays a blank word processor. Each of the chairs comes equipped with a virtual keyboard which can be used to type information directly into the third screen, such as theories and updated information; they can also be set into privacy mode, which will transfer whatever notes someone writes directly into their datapad instead of on screen. There's also a tablet function for those who wish to draw charts or pictures on screen. The keyboards will detect the DNA of whoever's using them and record who's typed what - simply press an area of text and the name of whoever wrote it will pop up. The area to the right of the table has been temporarily sectioned off with a glass partition and sliding door for hygienic issues. Inside, the victim's body has been laid out on a metal autopsy table, covered by a plastic sheet. Above it is a holographic screen that displays a close-up color photograph of the body when it was found. A hand sanitizer dispenser has been considerately attached to the wall nearby for anyone getting up close and personal to the body. To the left of the conference table is a display case. Any evidence found during the investigation will be carefully collected by the robots at some point the previous day and placed here before the trial starts. Beneath each piece of evidence is a small tablet where players can type up information, such as a short description or where it was found. There are also empty areas left over for any evidence that may be found during the trial. The shelf at the very bottom of the case has been reserved for an extra rulebook in case anyone needs it. Food will be served throughout the day by the robots, who will take individual orders whenever you're feeling hungry. The trial will end at 9:00 PM, at which point all players will have been expected to cast their vote.

[He's quiet again before he shrugs.]

Don't worry. I'm going to fix everything. Just proves you've gotta be even more careful than I thought. [Which kinda sucks.] As long as we have some time left, I think we can fix things.

[monsieurchatastrophe]

[... it's awkward, because Luke's leaning against a wall and he's taller than him, but Adrien puts a hand on his shoulder]

It's not all up to you to fix it. [#hypocrite] We're all in this together, right?

[chiseler]

[Thanks small cat. He looks at the hand before bringing his own hand up to pat at Adrien's.]

That's the nice, optimistic way to look at it, yeah. [He knows better, you little shit.] But we should start assessing what assets we have left in all of us anyway. You think we can all get our shit together to work as a team? [Because there are some doubts there.]

[monsieurchatastrophe]

I've been called nice and optimistic before. [he is a shit, still. but:] I think we haven't been doing so bad the past week. We all want the same thing now. There's a good chance we can manage to work together.

[chiseler]

That's because you're a good kid, Adrien. [It's said slowly, like he's not sure if the words are right, but there they are.] Most of the time. But okay, maybe you're right. Most of us want the same thing now and most of us will work together for a while. We still had Alice working to keep us up and running. There's just one thing we've really gotta keep in mind and that's the fact that at least one of us is being used against us. It's gonna take effort not to start freaking out on each other over the rest of the week.

[monsieurchatastrophe]

[he's not sure what to do at Luke calling him a good kid, so he just hums in answer.] Well... I think the important thing to remember is, whoever it is, they don't know. There's no point in trying to just guess, right? However this ends, we'll have to treat it like we've had to the rest of this project. Facts and evidence to find the right guilty party. That's all we've got.

[chiseler]

[Part of him wants to remind Adrien that it doesn't matter if the person doesn't know they did it. They all had argued about what to do during Dave's trial even when Roxy 'fessed up to a crime she didn't commit. He knows people have drawn lines in the sand, so to speak, picked sides, etc. The other thing he's worried about is the fact that with Alice offline, how could they be sure they'd get everything running for a proper execution? That's the scary thing of it all.]

Even without all of our resources...think we'll be okay finding all of the facts we need? [Facts. Nobody can argue with facts, and if they do...well, then they're all doomed anyway.]

[monsieurchatastrophe]

[he just means that if they don't know, there's no point in them accusing each other baselessly, but Luke's question just makes him grimace, though he tries to turn it into a smile]

That's a question for tomorrow, isn't it? We'll make a plan of action and everything... once everyone's done with the hangover.

[chiseler]

Some of us probably won't be hungover. [At least he kinda grins before taking a pull from the bottle nearby.] I'm gonna need your help this week. There're some things I have to take care of...I can't tell you exactly what they are, you'll just have to trust me. But I'll need you to be on your game and ready. Can you do that?

[monsieurchatastrophe]

Yeah, and you're probably not going to be included in that number. [but it's teasing. the follow-up makes him grow serious] Of course. If there's anything I can do, you know I'd want to help.
