[This doesn't mean they have to give up on trying to somehow. Persuade Alice to help them. But he doesn't imagine it will yield results. He's taking it hard; it's not even necessarily about the deaths, which are too abstract right now. But he's tired of failing.]

What did you learn from the test? Or was it all a bluff? You certainly weren't told anything by the graveyard this week. If they could have contacted us, showing up here physically wouldn't have been necessary.

[His tone is stern, but not exactly accusing. This should have been prevented, but he knows for all his complaining about the plan, he never put his foot down or tried to stop this. He should have, but sometimes it gets tiring to have his good intentions immediately spat on. He's not going to do that back, at least, not now. The morning is another matter.]

[He doesn't really have an answer so he sort of just stares at Dorian before he shrugs.]

[He doesn't say it harshly, just sort of disbelieving. After all this, Luke won't do them the courtesy of telling them whether Fiona was the only one they'd gotten results for?]

I don't really need or want an apology. You tried something and it. Well, it worked, to some degree. All I should like to know is what you learned from the test, and if you haven't a mind to share it, I'd like to know why.

We definitely found something in Fiona's blood. That's what I got anyway, or something. Jason's the one who actually looked and I mean...you don't double-take at something like that. That's how we knew.

But you didn't know whether you'd be able to find something that way?

[There's a lot that can be discussed later, once they figure out what to do about the Nuwa and Judar, but for now there's really only one question that mattered.]
