WEEK 11

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (11)

monday - thursday

(14) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

[it takes him a second, because honestly he's still stuck back in the math part of things (why did he ask, he wasn't ready for that, more importantly i wasn't ready for that) but despite how hard it is for him to think right now, even he's able to put two and two together and get what Jack's implying.]

She's not!

[he's scrambling to try to get back up from where Luke tried to settle him, his objections coming out more frantic and desperate than he probably means them to]

She's not, take that back, take it back-- you hate her, fine, but don't you dare...
refactor: (did he throw a nokia at them?)

[personal profile] refactor 2016-08-16 06:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Yyyyeah, y'see, that? That is why I didn't bring it up in the first place.

[ Jack doesn't look impressed, but he shrugs dismissively. It doesn't seem like something he at least has a passionate interest in fighting, so it's similarly at least not quite dickish. He's just being cool and factual, so. Okay, maybe a little dickish. ]

Ya gotta face the facts, kiddo. It's a possibility. Not saying she is, but I'm not saying she isn't either.
monsieurchatastrophe: (just feel that summer breeze)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-16 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
They're not facts, they're--guesses. Two isn't a pattern, it's a coincidence. [is now rly the time to try to argue math, adrien. he's too woozy to be holding himself up for this long, and he's heavily leaning on his remaining arm even as he tries to argue something jack is obviously not interested in arguing]

You don't know any more than anyone else, the only thing we know for sure is that they're sadistic, that could mean anybody!

[someone shoosh him he's arguing with a brick wall]
refactor: (millions of our people lost)

[ Jack's expression actually shifts into a slight scowl at this point. He seems to pause and consider something, but he just sighs. ]

Look, I'm not arguing that, kiddo. Two is shit to define a pattern, but I was asked my thoughts, and there you go. That's my gut feeling, because otherwise? We're flying blind here.

[ He shrugs again, still dismissive ]

But, yeah. It could mean anybody. Could be you, could be me, could be who we both know you're really talkin' about here. That's kinda my point. This is getting to that point too where I think you idiots are finally starting to get what we're dealing with. The ship's contaminated. You think any station worth their security is gonna let us in without being absolutely sure we're not infected? No way. That's why, technically speaking, purge is the right call. But, personally? Nnnnot too keen on dying. Uh, again.

[ He hates admitting that part, though ]

So, we have to get rid of the Souvlaki ourselves. We don't? We either die, or we're stuck on this ship until we do. That's the kind of odds we're facing here.
monsieurchatastrophe: ('til the floor's all clean)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-16 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)
[Jerkass Has A Point is a real thing, but Adrien is still scowling and looking ready to try and pick a fight regardless. Technicalities are fine, just leave his teen wife out of this, etc. Still, he's reluctantly less defensive when he points out:]

So far, our only way to know for sure is to let them kill. That's not...

[he wants to say a valid option, but he has the sudden realization that he will not like whatever Jack has to say next and just trails off on that one and m tries to anticipate the next proposition before he has to hear it and loses it completely: ]

We can't pick people off based on gut instinct either. They can take us out a lot easier than we can take them out.
missmaladroite: (Angel?)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-17 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Putting a hand on his non-maimed shoulder]

Adrien, it's fine. We already know it can't be me, Tikki would know. Don't strain yourself.
monsieurchatastrophe: (and cook and basically)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-17 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
[he flinches a bit at the contact, settling down a bit and hunching in on himself]

I'm not, I-- sorry. You're right.
missmaladroite: (Since you came aloooong)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-17 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
[She strokes his hair again, gently.]

[She offers a weak smile - honestly, with the talk of the prisoner's dilemma and a collaborative murder, she'd been considering offering herself if it came to that - but there's one thing holding her back.]

[She drops her voice a little to murmur, almost in his ear:]

Don't worry, Adrien. I won't leave you.

monsieurchatastrophe: (take a climb)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-17 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
[well. that's enough to make him look like he's about to break down into tears, though probably not for the reason she thinks. he swallows instead and looks at his lap.]

... Okay. I... thank you.

[He's always had trouble not considering himself a burden, and now look at this. She's stuck with his idiocy. She deserves so much better but it's not like he can say that-- or like he even wants to. He feels grateful and awful at once, and feeling grateful only makes him feel worse about everything. Is he even allowed to? He can't help her anymore. What good is he to her? He's just something more she has to worry about now.]
missmaladroite: (I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES (again))

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-18 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
[If only Marinette were a little more emotionally intelligent, she might realize what the hell is going on, but she gets the feeling she screwed up so far.]

[But she keeps trying]

We're partners, right? In sickness and in health. All we have to do is find you a robot arm, or... something. I'll protect you until then.

[BUZZER NOISE]
monsieurchatastrophe: (no)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-18 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
[internally screaming. all he can manage is to croak out:]

...Yeah. Robot arm. Sounds great.
missmaladroite: (where did you come from)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-19 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Adrien...?

[don't look at her like that, you three legged cat]
monsieurchatastrophe: (and wondering and wondering)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-19 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry. M'just... tired. [and it's not a lie, at least, because ahaaaa why is he awake right now, but it's not like that's why he went all weird either]
missmaladroite: (Sexy thing you)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-19 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[She's not stupid, bro, but]

You should be resting.
monsieurchatastrophe: (take a climb)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-19 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[usually he'd argue, but, uh. he kind of wants to be resting. like, forever. why is he awake and why is this scenario happening everything is bullshit]

Probably. But I'm glad I didn't hear all of this secondhand. I can rest after?
missmaladroite: (The lonely people)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-19 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
[She wants to put him to bed, but]

Alright. Just a little longer.

[if he starts to pass out she's Ladybugging him into bed if you know what I mean]
refactor: (bow our heads and pray to the Lord)

[personal profile] refactor 2016-08-17 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ Jack scoffs and rolls his eyes ]

I mean, I'm not saying we pick based off gut instinct, Christ. I'm saying that if we're going to play this shit, we have to play it smart. We've got an infection. We've gotta get rid of it. That means people are gonna have to die. Because even if we know someone is infected? That means we've gotta let 'em kill if we wanna save the person.

[ He pauses, then exhales a heavy sigh before he shrugs. ]

Welcome to being a hero. It's make shit choices like this.
