WEEK 11

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (11)

monday - thursday

(14) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

"Options"? There aren't any. We all know what's going to happen next. [She's tired herself out with her fit earlier, so she's quiet and drawn back into her seat, but her tone is hard.] We have a conspiracy kill and a trial every week. Someone gets killed, someone else tries to get away with it. It's how it works, it's the rules. There's no "we" about what happens next unless we're about to ask for volunteers to die.

[Clover gets a very sympathetic look because wow this. This sure sucks for her, too, doesn't it.]

Even if we asked for volunteers I have no idea if it'd even count or if it'd be like assisted suicide. That's the thing, we have to figure out what's going to count and also how many of us on our ship would kill for the people on that ship.

The chances of everybody on that ship not murdering just so we can get away clean are pretty much none. But...do we want this project to keep going? That's the other thing. We're got a really shitty hand to play with.

Yeah, we do.

[She sighs, slumping down into her chair, arms folded. At least Luke gets her, anyway.]

We don't know enough, we can't do anything else like this... What's it matter for us if we stop this bullshit project but all of us are dead?
chiseler: (what's worth forgiving?)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-17 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It doesn't. [He doesn't like it either and that's why he's fiddling with a marker, twirling it between his fingers and staring at the board again.] We're playing in the dark here. We've only got half of the information and this was way easier back home when I at least had a spy. [That. Is irrelevant but it mostly means he's having a hard time here.]

You really think they've been playing the game for eleven weeks, too?
douchemag: (serious)

[personal profile] douchemag 2016-08-16 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Fuck the rules.

[Judar doesn't look like he's in any rational state of mind here, not that that's at all unusual for him - but the usual lack of focus in his expression's been replaced by a tight anger.]

We've been playing by the rules for eleven weeks now, and where has it gotten us? Fucking nowhere. We know more about why we're here, great. Doesn't tell us shit about what's even gonna happen to us if the project continues or how the hell we're getting home or what the fucking point of this all is.

[well hey there one of like. two people she respects enough to take seriously. as always: what the fuck why this.

but there's no anger left in her when she turns to Judar, at least in part because it's him, she's just tired.
]

So what do we do? We break the rules this time and we all get killed for it. Whatever happens after or in the meantime, someone's going to die this week like always. I don't know what else...how else...
douchemag: (what was it again?)

[He blinks, and then all the seriousness from his face promptly disappears. Well, that was a cool ten seconds, there's his limit...]

Noooo idea? Not really strong on the planning thing. [A shrug.] All I know is we keep going down this path, nothing's gonna change - we're just going to wind up right back here playing along to the game.
