WEEK 11

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (11)

monday - thursday

(14) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

[Yeah, no. Logical thought can go fuck right off, but they would at least... try. Or something. Jason's all wired up, and he's scoffing derisively at Adam.]

Way easier said than done. If you haven't noticed, we have no way to coordinate with the other ship. We don't know if— [if Bruce] if those idiots will decide to be self-sacrificial hoping we do the deed and survive this shindig.

All of them wanting to sacrifice themselves? No way.

I don't know if there's a choice here. If we don't kill, we die.

That's the question, isn't it? Whether they'll want to sacrifice for us. Our numbers are fewer, we've been infected by the souvlaki, and while we've children here, they also have children there.
chiseler: (are we all too young to die?)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-16 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[He looks distinctively unhappy at the mention of children on the Nuwa before nodding slowly.]

I agree with Adam, actually. There's no way all of them will want to sacrifice themselves especially if they don't know what we're planning. As it stands, we're the weaker of the two ships.

I agree. I don't think they'll sacrifice for us. The choice of what to do is in our hands.

[After a second's pause, to Luke.]

Though there are more lives at stake on the ship than our small number.

They have almost double the amount of people we have. [Okay that's a gross exaggeration but whatever.] I think it also depends if they think we won't kill anybody on our side. The likelihood that they might think we'll sacrifice ourselves.

Weirdly, it seems like the ideal here is to have both ships kill and the projects continue. That seems to be the only way to walk out with the least amount of casualties but that's still a murder. Our number gets smaller but theirs doesn't take too big of a hit. [But he's sure everyone's thinking "what if my hostage is the one to die on Nuwa?"] We've all been playing for eleven weeks now. I don't think any of us on either ship will just say "oh okay I guess it's time to give up."

[Judar laughs, but it's a sharp and humorless sound.]

So that's it, then? We kill someone and hope the others do too?

And who exactly is going to step up to the plate here? Which two people want to die and risk the other ship getting purged too to save everyone else here? Or are we gonna execute someone other than the killer because fuck it, they had enough guts to do what the rest of us are thinking?
monsieurchatastrophe: (and cook and basically)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-16 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Judar's got a point. [which he probably loves hearing from the shonen, I'm sure]

We have no way to know for sure if the other ship will kill or not. Even if... if we all decide to kill regardless, we're asking two people to take the bullet to maybe save ten of us, but for how long? When does this project end? When there's only as many survivors as there are possible culprits? We don't even know if this is the truth or just another of her mind games-- if she wants us to survive so bad why tell us about this in the first place when there's a higher chance we'd fold now than if we had the original motive.

[....of course he says all that, but just the thought that they could all die here after everything is pretty fucked up]

[you know what he's just going to interpret this as him finally corrupting the shounen]

I think it's been made pretty fucking clear by this point that relying on Ass Lice is getting us absolutely nowhere. All she's been doing this whole time is using us for some purpose she won't even tell us. I don't call saving us just so we can keep playing in her shitty game some kind of favor.
chiseler: (and as you step back into line)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-08-17 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Neither do I. The other problem is that she's been keeping us alive by keeping the ship running. We'd be screwed without her in that sense. [That's where things get dicey as far as he understands.] The other thing is we don't know what the Nuwa AI's been telling its passengers, too. Alice says we all got the same motive, but we don't know what was said to them after the feed was cut either.
