WEEK 10

the pygmalion. . .

ONLINE

CAPTAIN'S LOG:
WEEK (10)

monday - thursday

(18) survivors

Sunday's trial was only mere hours ago, but you find yourself faced with a new week on The Pygmalion. When you awaken, you will find the ship restored to its previous state, all areas interfered with during the murder looking mostly the same as they did before. Along with this, it appears there are new areas opened on the ship. It seems you have more exploring to do. The robot in the cafeteria has prepared another breakfast of various foods.

(OOC: Please submit your murder proposals by 9 PM EST Tuesday.)

[if Marinette is looking at the front plaque, Adrien's going to look at the back one]

There were a few other places that were dusty... When the lower deck was opened, monsieur Frakenstein went on a cleaning spree. [he's remembering this softly, with as much melancholy as you can have for shit that went down in a murder game during the non-murdery parts] Still, this is in a worse state than everywhere else, I think.

Imagine asking for that rococo statue to be sculpted fifty times. [But upon reading the inscription, Marinette digs out her notebook to write it all down]

[Then she recites it out loud for their benefit]

Whoever made this ship was really into that play.

[And this poem kind of reminds her of Alice]

Yes, it seems to be a running theme, doesn't it? Almost as though a story about falling in love with a woman you sculpted yourself out of clay hit home for someone, rather than simply being depressing.

[Is there anything else they can see about this statue, though? He casually knocks on it - is it even decent marble?]
monsieurchatastrophe: (should I?)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-09 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
[Adrien waits until Marinette is done reciting hers to recite his own, since he knows she's writing them down]

"The creation of life where it did not exist before"... That doesn't sound like what we've been doing at all. [they've been a bit more murder-y than that implies!! a LITTLE BIT. he straightens up and looks at the other statues since the header says there's more than one-- from afar, do they all look the same?]

Do you guys think that poem's about Alice? Could she have been based on a real person...?
missmaladroite: (touch me baby)

Creation of life.... [Marinette flips back to her other notes, the ones she showed Adrien.] Somehow, I don't think this "project" is what they had in mind when they started it.

[Marinette's going to check out the other statue, kneeling for the plaque]

Dorian, can you see what she's holding? [Since he's the tallest. Also:]

It's possible. That game, Furry Passing... didn't the programmer's wife pass away?
tevinteriscoming: (distracted. 1)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-09 03:47 am (UTC)(link)
[I mean. His height probably isn't going to help, given how tall she is. Maybe someone with superpowers should scamper up there. But he'll try.]

No, I don't think so. But it's interesting, isn't it? Furry Passing, in a way, appears to be intended to let us talk to the dead. Not truly, but perhaps that's what was meant?
monsieurchatastrophe: (start on the chores and sweep)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-09 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[goes on the other side to check out that other plaque!!! because!!! obviously.]

Talking to the dead... from the comments from the programmer to the captain, it didn't seem like Furry Passing was part of the project. Just a side thing they were working on for some reason.
missmaladroite: (Now you're lying next to meee)

[personal profile] missmaladroite 2016-08-09 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
If it's real, I doubt it was part of the plan. The game can't even send messages correctly, it must have had another function.]

Er-- Adrien? Could you read this? It's in Chinese.

[She'd translate it herself but he's right there, less effort]
tevinteriscoming: (complain. 2)

[personal profile] tevinteriscoming 2016-08-09 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Don't forget - when the power went out, we saw images of the dead in there. Of course it isn't real, but it's connected somehow.

[Okay, looks like she's holding up the sky, though he probably won't know that until Adrien translates.]
monsieurchatastrophe: (and so I'll read a book)

[personal profile] monsieurchatastrophe 2016-08-09 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
... Are we sure it isn't real?

[but he quickly reads off his own part, and there's a pause once he's finished as it seems to resonate a bit too much with him, before he moves over to Marinette and translates hers. he adds:]

Nüwa... If I remember correctly, in ancient Chinese mythology, she's the goddess who created mankind. [thank you for being a chinaboo, adrien.] It makes sense to have her as a symbol with what this project was supposed to be. Re-population, right?
