Wednesday, Gardens

[Jessie is still sneaking about (aka: existing) in her rocket uniform on Wednesday. Her walk brings her to the gardens; it'd be nice to sneak some fruit back to her room...and it'd be even nicer to take inventory.

She's not expecting company, but when Adam speaks to her, she shoots him a look and points at herself.]

Well, yes. Why wouldn't I? [ Alright, he knows she apparently doesn't have normal animals where she comes from, but she has to have plants. ]

Even if you have an alternate name for them, it would help.

I suppose there's no reason why you shouldn't...forget I said anything!

[She's kind of under the impression that everyone would think she's pathetic after her heroism was revealed to the entire ship. If Adam isn't going to bring it up, she will gladly carry on.]

But I don't know if I can help. Where I come from, we have just as many grass-type Pokémon as we do plants. Exeggcute are shaped like seeds, Tangela are shaped like walking masses of vines, Gloom are shaped like flowers. If these plants moved, maybe I'd be able to help.

[ Nope, this is a no secrets zone. He wouldn't connect the two anyway. Maybe people just don't ask her for advice enough? ]

... Oh. [ He's writing those names down anyway. You never know. ] I'm pretty glad these aren't moving, honestly. Are any of those poison, by the way? Because I can't say I would put it past the AI.

There are lot of poisonous Pokémon. I'm not shy about admitting that Arbok is a poison-type himself.

[Is this really so interesting to him? Well, that's fine. She makes herself comfortable where she stands.]

Oddish, Gloom, and Vileplume are all poisonous flower Pokémon. Even some that aren't learn how to utilize poisonous spores. We should be thankful there's no Beedrill around here. They're a real problem, and they never know when to buzz off.

[ Must be, because he's noting all of this. He's pretty sure that's a pun and he smiles at it, but wait, maybe he should check. ]

Beedrill, like... a yellow and black insect with a stinger? Are all those types of poison deadly?

If by stinger you mean twin drills as long as my forearm, sure.

[She comes from a terrifying world. Let us all remember that. Meanwhile, it feels sort of nice to have someone writing down what she says.]

Poison from Pokémon is only capable of knocking someone out. They're strong enough to make someone sick and bring them down, and that's it.

Wha— [ Give him a second to imagine that. He definitely looks mildly horrified. He'll just... write that down too. ]

That's a... relief. [ Still questioning how people survive, but. ] Is there any treatment for that sort of thing? Sucking it out, or...?

Let's see...if it's Poison Powder, you want to rinse it off, obviously. Arbok sprays acid from his mouth, so washing that off is a good idea, too. If there's poison gas, it's best to blow it away. Other poison-type attacks...you usually just have to wait for it to wear off or use an antidote.

[There are a lot of ways for Team Rocket to poison someone, in other words. Ah, Arbok, never change.]

Is this really that important? If there were other Pokémon here, I'd know it.

[ Mostly he's interested in Arbok's poison but he's still writing all of this down. ]

Probably not that important, but I think it's interesting. You come from a really different place... I mean, even Bull and Dorian's home had equivalents to here.

What do you think is more dangerous, these plants or your Pokemon?

[She'll never admit it's her own world that's weird! But she's the center of attention like that.]

I guess that depends, doesn't it? Arbok only follows my orders. So, Adam, what's more dangerous? Me, or these plants?

Honestly? The plants. [ This is probably not what she wants to hear but he's going to say it anyway. ]

You're not that bad, you know? I mean, you haven't killed anyone and that's a real standing achievement in these parts.

Of course, I—wait, what?! The plants don't even do anything, they just stand there!

[Her street cred...it's all slipping through her fingers like the sands in the hourglass that is the days of our lives.]

I mean, you're not wrong, I'm not going to kill anyone. But I'm really a criminal mastermind! Really!

Technically, they're doing a lot. [ Possibly not the time for a biology lesson? ]

I'm sure you're real good at that, too. But you're a criminal mastermind with morals. It's not like plants can decide who they're going to poison.

They're boring. They don't even walk or throw their leaves around or tangle people up with their vines.

[Again, Pokémon are cray.]

D-don't just say that out loud where someone might hear! Stop that!

Uh, sorry? [ Jessie is cray. ]

But, you know, having people think you're good isn't the worst thing here. They'd be less likely to falsely accuse you if something goes wrong. It'd be a good trick?

You know, now that you mention it, it would be. I haven't been a suspect since our very first week here. Maybe I should do something really suspicious again.

I never knew you could give such fantastic advice, Adam.

[It's definitely his fault if she goes off the deep end this week.]

We don't exactly have a sky. The ship's the limit. [ Please remember this. ]

... You know what'd be the most suspicious? If you acted like the opposite of a criminal mastermind. Like a hero.

[On distant planets. Hopefully? Are we out of planets?!]

I can't just...be a hero. It goes against everything I believe in, like getting rich quick and being the most beautiful person in the room at all times.

[This conversation had such a hopeful start, too.]

[ Luckily, he still thinks Jessie is more sane than a lot of the people here. ]

[ He'll lower his voice: ] If you saw some of the things about people this week, you're one of the few.

I...have honor sometimes, it's true.

[She'll match his tone. Whoo, boy, is this where it gets juicy? She can't comment on Adam's secret, but her desire to bully him is at an absolute zero after seeing his. She feels a little bad for him.]

I watched most of them. They're certainly...not what I expected.
