It's actually rather quiet this time, only reaching crescendos on especially high notes — enough to wake you up, though. Arumat's Room, dead o'clock

[As soon as she hears the shower running, she's running into Arumat's room to turn off the water and see what the shit is going on]

Monsieur Arumat? Are you here?!

[ like he can't speak for arumat but dave's door at least opens up while marinette makes a racket? he's still dressed for bed since he was apparently. just. ignoring the fucking alarm because fuck this noise he was tired? ]

[Oh Christ. She had to pick what was behind door number three.

Emily has already yelled for Marinette and is hanging back by the door. It's not like she couldn't touch a dead body but she doesn't WANT TO.]

[Arumat's room is a total mess. There's several scorch marks along the walls and furniture. Papers lie scattered all around the room, most of them also scorched or cut into pieces. The desk's been toppled over and the bottom bunk of the bed looks like it's been cut with some sort of large blade. The floor has been completely soaked through with water flowing from the bathroom.

The bathroom is in equally poor condition. Marinette won't be able to turn off the shower, as it looks like the shower head's been completely sheared off from the pipe by some sort of blade. The mirror's been shattered and there's about three to four inches of water on the floor. There's a large dark blood smear on the wall across from the mirror.

Facedown in the bathroom, staining the water with blood, lies the body of Arumat P Thanatos.

Arumat's room is flooding---

[But then she catches sight of Arumat's body, and immediately runs over to check and see if he's still alive, turning him over so he could breathe if he was]

[Let's be real, he isn't, but she's still going to try]

Arumat! Can you hear me?

[ uh, whoa. dave will follow marinette into the bathroom and frown at the shower, going over to check the cut. he's a sword guy, maybe he'll notice something about the cut pipe or at least maybe he can try to figure out how to just. turn off the water? wtf. surely this is possible if not he will complain to alice in two seconds.

...also, he's floating above the water on the floor because fuck that noise he's barefoot. ]

[Aaand there's the dead body. The bathroom is small enough so she will hang out by the door. Which, since she is by the wall anyway, she will take a look at one of those scorch marks. How messed up ARE the walls or is it just a layer of soot?]

There's no way in hell he's alive. It would be better to check for clues instead of a pulse.

[Yeah, Arumat definitely can't hear her. When she turns him over, that immediately becomes clear, as his forehead has been brutally bashed open.

The cut's clean and looks like it was cut with a large curved blade. If Dave looks down he'll see Arumat's scythe on the floor beside him, which might explain that. He's not going to be able to figure out how to turn off the water gushing forth, as the shower knob itself is already off.

The wall's scorched pretty badly, it's not just a layer of soot.]

[yeah, he's dead. As she expected. She takes a second to collect herself before focusing on.. everything else going on.]

[She looks around for something to block the water, but--]

Alice! Can you stop the water?

[ yeah that was gonna be dave's next move so he flashes a thumbs up at marinette. ]

[ dave will examine the scythe on the floor to see if there's anything particularly interesting about it. has it cut anything besides apparently arumat's shower. ]

Another question for the scorches is the metal of the wall warped in anyway? Also what is the direction of the scorch marks? Like normal fire burning dark at the bottom lighter at the top or crazy explosion scorches?]

Also Alice- Does this place have sprinklers or are we all going to have to rip our showers off to stop out of control fires?

Very well, Marinette. As for your inquiry, Emily, there are precautions in place for out of control fires.

[The water cuts off abruptly. There doesn't seem to be anything of particular interest about the scythe - it's impossible to tell how often it's been used. They may notice something floating in the corner of the bathroom while they're there, however.

The scorchmarks look like they were created with fire rather than via explosion. They're medium sized, vaguely in the shape of a circle, and bloom outwards - it's impossible to tell what direction they come from. The metal underneath is slightly warped.]

[ i guess dave will move on to checking arumat's body more properly. he'll look at the head wound and shit and try to gauge what might have caused it. ]

Yo, what "precautions" are we specifically talkin' about here? Are we gonna have a fire drill, Alice. Is everyone gonna stand around in the corridors in their jammies going why the fuck are we havin' a fire drill this is so dumb y'all.

[Before Emily joins everyone in the bathroom is it able to confirm that the bed was probably sliced with the scythe?]

[The head wound is far too messy to look like it could have been caused by a single hit with a blunt object. It looks like it's been bashed in multiple times, possibly against a wall.

The slices on the bed do appear to be large and curved, similar to the marks left from a scythe.

Marinette will find a book floating in the water several feet away from the body. It's also been scorched, but the title and most of the contents is still readable. It's A Historical Compendium of Cases of Male Pregnancy Throughout the Galaxy: Vol 12.]
